We have an opportunity for an Account Director to manage the corporate sales account for a leading car manufacturer. Working for a leading sales agency, you will be the key client contact for the account – having regular meetings with your client and have management responsibility for a team. The role is based in the home counties (Bucks/Herts/Oxon).

This role would suit someone with experience in an Account Director/Programme Director role – supplying an automotive manufacturer/OEM. This need not necessarily be in corporate sales – you could be supplying any product or service in to an OEM. Key to this role is the ability to successfully manage a client relationship, prioritise tasks and provide a first class service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the client’s main day-to-day contact
  • Develop client relationships through regular meetings to review performance
  • Identify opportunities to add value, and grow business
  • To recruit, train and develop direct reports
  • To maintain and develop systems to measure achievement of objectives
  • Co-ordinate and manage internal and client projects and actions
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to add value to client operation
  • Monitor and control budgets, ensuring sales and profit targets are met.
  • Brief internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects / client requests
  • When required, assist in new business pitches
  • To maintain and develop systems to measure achievement of objectives

About You

  • Experience managing a client relationship – with an automotive manufacturer client
  • Proven track record of account management
  • Experience and knowledge of the Fleet Automotive environment – Useful but not essential
  • Experience and ability to manage and motivate a team of people
  • Numerate and able to manage budgets
  • Persuasive and adaptable presenter – able to positively influence different audiences
  • Experience of professional business practices – running meetings, preparing minutes, making presentations, prioritising workload
  • Experience of task/project achievement requiring some strategic foresight
  • Strong resilience and desire to drive continuous improvements and operate in a changing environment
  • Building and developing collaborative relationships – internal and external
  • Ability to control budgets and meet your profit targets.
  • IT literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Office 365
