Job purpose

As a Recruitment Consultant you will be responsible for managing existing client relationships and handling their job vacancy briefs. You’ll source, interview and present candidates to your clients in a timely manner, managing both your clients and candidates through the whole recruitment process. Your focus will be on delivering such a great service to both your clients and candidates so that they recommend you and give you repeat business. You overall goal will be to generating sales revenue by filling your client’s job vacancies.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Nurturing existing client relationships to generate job vacancy briefs
  • Taking detailed new assignment briefs from clients
  • Working with a resourcer to source candidates fitting your client’s brief
  • Working with marketing to ensure your jobs are promoted and marketed to attract your target candidates
  • Promote yourself and your vacancies using social media
  • Interviewing prospective candidates for job vacancies
  • Select candidates and write ‘interview reports’ to accompany their CV
  • Prepare and coach candidates on CV preparation and interview process and preparation
  • Maintain close and regular contact with clients (telephone & face to face)
  • Negotiate job offers between clients and candidates
  • Act as a trusted career advisor to your candidates
  • Monitor your own performance against company standards and client service level agreements

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a customer facing office-based role
  • Excellent face to face and telephone communication skills
  • Educated to at least A level standard (preferably degree)
  • Be highly customer focused – always to provide the best possible candidate experience
  • Advanced questioning skills
  • Ability to quickly become an expert in our market and clearly articulate your specialist knowledge and understanding
  • Ability to organise time and prioritise tasks
  • IT proficient – ability to quickly learn new IT systems
  • Persistence and tenacity with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent written English (accurate spelling and grammar)
  • Be eager to learn and develop your skills (with training)
