This week it was reported that Tesla recorded a quarterly loss of almost $710m (£523m) for the three months to March. Whilst the loss is less than expected it is more than double the same period last year. Revenues are up, but Tesla continues to haemorrhage cash and much of this is down to production issues related to more affordable Tesla Model 3.
Being the trailblazer in a new industry could mean that it lays the foundations for others at it’s own cost. Let’s hope Tesla survives this and doesn’t become the next ‘Amstrad’ or ‘Sinclair’.
