Job Description

A leading car manufacturer is seeking an Aftersales Product manager to define and implement their parts strategy for the body repair market. You’ll be tasked with creating a strategy that delivers on profit, volume and market share objectives.

This role would suit someone with strong analytical skills and commercial acumen and a background/knowledge of the crash repair, insurance or automotive aftermarket sectors.  The position is hybrid with 2 days a week working in the office in South East England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aligning the business’ parts strategy for the body repair market
  • Identifying growth opportunities through market share data and competitor research
  • Proposing price realignment actions, in line with identified opportunities
  • Managing the Approved Repairer network through the appointed management company
  • Managing accident aftercare to maximise first notification of loss and direct customers into approved repairers to ensure use of genuine OE parts.
  • Managing approved suppliers to provide estimate interceptor and total loss avoidance programmes
  • Develop relationships with automotive insurers and putting in place incentive programmes to drive and reward loyalty in OE parts purchases.

About You

  • Experience working in an analytical or product management role in either a vehicle manufacturer, automotive insurance, crash repair or independent aftermarket business
  • A good understanding of the crash repair marketplace would be highly advantageous however knowledge of the automotive aftermarket would also be suitable
  • Be a strategic thinker, prepared to define and adapt activity to meet a fast-changing market
  • Able to engage with 3rd party suppliers and partners both face to face and remotely
  • Excellent analytical and data analysis skills,
  • Advanced level Excel skills
  • Highly level of commercial acumen able to identify business opportunities
  • Financially orientated in areas such as budget control, margins & net profitability
