Job Description

A leading provider of lubricants to the industrial and automotive industries is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the industrial sector. The position is field based covering Southern England.  You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of industrial accounts as well as prospecting for new ones – covering manufacturing, energy, food, refrigeration and processing sectors. The role is focused on growing sales volumes and achieving targets for your region.

This role would suit a highly sales-focused person with experience in a sales or account management role working with customers in the industrial sector. Any experience / knowledge of lubricants would be very useful but is not essential. You’ll also need to demonstrate excellent relationship building and customer service skills as well as a highly organised approach in planning and managing your territory and customer portfolio

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and developing sales volume and revenue from existing accounts
  • Regular travel within your region to maximise face-to-face time with customers and prospects.
  • Tracking and developing new business opportunities through Salesforce.
  • Effective management of your time between account management and new business to increase market share.
  • Help support future product growth by sharing knowledge and insights from your customers
  • Support the UK and Europe sector specialists in strategic sector growth.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to effectively grow and maintain products and services.

About You

  • Experience in a field-based B2B sales or account management role
  • In-depth knowledge of the industrial customer base.   
  • A proven track record in prospecting for and converting new business accounts
  • Solid experience of Salesforce or other CRM system as pipeline management tool.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Forecasting awareness to ensure optimum stock levels of product are on premises and in pipeline.
  • Experience in leading the coordination of tender submissions and contract reviews.
  • Strong relationship building capability across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide excellent levels of customer service.
  • Able to organise and plan your time and territory effectively.
  • Computer literate with good presentation skills.
