Job Description
A national, independent flexi-hire company specialising in LCV and car rental is seeking a Business Development Manager to become an integral part of their ambitious plans for continued growth and expansion. The business prides itself in offering exceptional customer service and support; and enjoys a high level of referral and incremental business.
Covering the Midlands and South, this is a new business development role involving prospecting and winning B2B customers, ranging from SMEs to large corporates. This position will evolve to include account management as newly acquired customer relationships are onboarded and continue to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting and winning new flexi-hire customers throughout the South and Midlands
- Maximising business opportunities through account development, management reporting and regular customer review meetings
- Involvement with Marketing Department to help develop effective, targeted marketing campaigns
- Networking at trade and corporate events, as required
- Working with the inhouse account management team, and senior management, to drive business growth
- Organising your own diary. Recording business activities utilising industry recognised diary and CRM systems
Skills & Attributes
- Minimum 3 years’ current experience in a field-based, new business development role in B2B vehicle flexi-hire, rental or leasing
- A passion for, and proven track record in, prospecting and winning incremental new business
- Excellent account management skills, with a track record demonstrating an ability to develop and nurture customers
- Knowledge and experience of LCV conversion and specification is highly desirable
- A self-starter with excellent planning and organisational skills; with the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including on social media
- Willing to travel and stay away overnight as the job demands.
