Job Description

A fast-growing supplier of vehicle maintenance contracts and service plans is seeking a Business Development Manager. The business is independently owned and prides itself in providing impartial advice and a highly customer-focused service.

The position will be home-based covering South East England (S.London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire). You’ll be responsible for prospecting and winning new business with brokers, dealerships, car supermarkets etc). You will mainly work from home but will visit customers 1 or 2 days a week.

This role would suit an automotive industry sales person with the ability to open-doors and win new customers. You could have a background in a dealership (B2B/fleet sales), broker, leasing company or other automotive business and a track record winning new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting.
  • Make a high volume of outbound calls to identify and qualify potential customers.
  • Book appointments with prospective clients.
  • Attend face-to-face meetings to present our products/services and secure new business.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Develop lasting relationships with new customers.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales and activity targets.
  • Keep accurate records of all sales activity within the CRM system.
  • Represent the company professionally and act as a trusted ambassador for the brand.

About You

  • A genuine hunter with a passion for winning new business.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls every day.
  • Experience in cold calling and appointment setting.
  • Proven experience in business development or field sales.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Confident, resilient, and motivated by achieving results.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote role
  • Organised with excellent time management skills.
  • An excellent communicator with strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined while working remotely.
  • Happy travelling to customer appointments and managing a field-based territory.
  • Be living within the region (S London, Kent, E & W Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
