Job Description
A vehicle OEM with ambitious growth plans is seeking a Head of Sales to lead sales and drive growth across their UK franchised dealer network. Leading a team, you’ll develop and manage the UK dealers, setting sales targets, driving retail and wholesale performance to ensure volume and market share growth and profitability. The position is field-based covering the UK but will require regular meetings at the manufacturer’s UK head office based in Southern England.
This role would suit a highly target driven individual with a track record managing people (at least 2) and growing sales in a dealer-facing sales role for a vehicle manufacturer/importer. You’ll need to enjoy working in a fast moving environment and be highly adaptable to change and innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and executive national sales strategy – defining targets, monitoring performance
- Lead and build a sales team including field and head-office based people
- Driving pricing, incentive and campaign strategies
- Working closely with network development team – help to develop and optimise the dealers network planning, appointments and performance management
- Manage dealer standards and policies
- Lead dealer performance reviews
- Motivate your team, setting targets and driving performance
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer insights
- Support new product launches to ensure successful entry into the UK market
- Drive digital and omnichannel sales initiatives
- Ensure compliance and franchise agreements are in place
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership
- Manage budgets, forecasts and commercial P&L for sales
ABOUT YOU
- Proven sales leadership experience with an automotive OEM or importer
- Experience managing franchised dealer networks and commercial partnerships
- Demonstrable track record delivering sales growth, market share expansion and dealer performance improvement
- Strategic commercial mindset with strong analytical and financial acumen
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Demonstrable ability to build high-performing teams
- Credible and influential with senior internal and external stakeholders
- A highly target driven attitude – driven to achieve sales and corresponding rewards
- Hungry, driven and tenacious – thrive in a fast moving start-up environment
- Resilient, adaptable and comfortable in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment
- Prepared to work long, flexible hours as the job demands
- Experience in digital retailing and omnichannel automotive sales models is desirable but not essential
