Job Description
A car manufacturer is seeking a Logistics Manager to manage a team responsible for new car logistics including shipping, distribution and storage. The position is based in London with occasional travel in the UK.
This role would suit a someone with a background in a logistics role with either a vehicle manufacturer, shipping business, automotive Tier 1 supplier or freight forwarder. You’ll need to have excellent leadership and communication skills – able to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and implement new strategies of shipment methods, distribution, and storage
- Lead and motivate a head office logistic team
- Monitor and report competitive activity and recommend logistics strategies
- Initiate and develop a strong relationship with distributors
- Collaborate with dealers and wide ranging internal stakeholders
- Manage multiple supplier relationships involved on the logistics chain, review performance of suppliers on assigned targets, provide feedback and help them develop their skills
- Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and daily requirements.
ABOUT YOU
- At least 4 years’ experience in a logistic role with either a vehicle manufacturer, shipping business, automotive Tier 1 supplier or automotive freight forwarder.
- Proven leadership experience – at least 4 years’ managing people
- Excellent leadership and communication skills – able to communicate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Educated to degree level or equivalent training in, Business, Marketing, Economics, and Engineering Finance or similar.
- Literacy in computer and software (Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Power BI).
