Job Description
A fast growing business who offer specialist LCV & passenger car vehicle rentals are seeking a Business Development Manager. The business prides itself in offering industry leading customer service and support and enjoy a highly level of referral and incremental business based on this. They have ambitious plans for continued growth and as the New Business Development Manager you’ll be a key part of these growth plans.
The position will be field based covering the Midlands and South (with some nationwide travel). You’ll be tasked with prospecting and winning new B2B customers from SMEs to large corporates. Initially the role will be mainly new business development but will evolve to include account management as you bring on new customers. This role would suit a proven new business developer with experience in a B2B sales role in the automotive industry. Ideally you’ll have experience of vehicle rental b2b sales, however experience in fleet sales or leasing would also be considered.
You’ll preferably be based in the Midlands or Southern UK, however exceptional candidates from other regions will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting for and winning new rental customers
- Regular face to face sales meetings with customers
- Reporting of all sales activities on CRM system
- Ongoing support and account management of new customers as they come on board
- Full management of your diary and time
- Working closely with management team
- Liaising with marketing department to help develop effective marketing campaigns
About You
- At least 3 years’ experience in a field-based B2B sales or business development role in the automotive industry in either rental, leasing, or fleet sales
- Experience selling rental, leasing or fleet solutions to end-user businesses
- A passion for and proven track record in prospecting and winning incremental new business
- Comfortable with a predominantly new business development role
- A knowledge of LCV specs and conversions would be highly desirable
- Excellent account management skills, with the ability to develop and nurture customers
- Demonstrable track record in delivering first class customer care
- A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously without close supervision
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including social media
- Ideally based in the Midlands or South, with good motorway access
- Willing to travel and stay away overnight as the job demands
